Why Titanium:There is a myth in our industry that Chromoly is the best material to makefasteners from. It is just that amyth. Both Chromoly and Titanium are excellent materials for fasteners. But isnt Titanium more brittle than Chromoly? Yes, but that doesnt mean Titanium isbrittle. It is just more so thanChromoly, but not by much (10% elongation at break compared to 16%). Strength wise, our Ti has an ultimate tensilestrength of 170,000 psi (8740 Chromoly is 167,000). Titanium is also more resistantto heat and corrosion than Chromoly, it is HALFTHE WEIGHT of Chromoly. Evenbetter, our Titanium fasteners COSTTHE SAME OR LESS THAN CHROMOLY.The simple truth is that both materials are more than strong enough towithstand the heat and tension any powersports vehicle generates. In one area Chromoly is stronger than Ti, butoverall the Ti fastener is a better-quality product. So much so we offer a LIFETIME WARRANTY (see warranty info above) on all of ourTitanium fasteners.
